On Friday, July 25th 2011, the Abhilasha Project hosted a Dinner Gala at McGill University in The Shatner Ballroom. Our host for the evening, Gayatri Sagar offered the guests an entertaining evening keeping them engaged throughout the event. On behalf of the entire team at Abhilasha, we would like to thank her for her unwavering support of the project for the past several years and her generous contribution.
The evening would not have been possible without the generous support of L’Academie Restaurant- Crescent Branch, that provided a delicious and succulent dinner that kept our guests coming back for more (and more!). The remaining food from the event was donated to Chez Doris, a women’s shelter in Montreal.
Our phenomenal performers dazzled our guests by transporting them across continents, from the Argentine Tango to the elegant and intricate dance form of Bharatnatyam to contemporary and fun dances of Bollywood and kept them entertained throughout the evening.
A very special thank you to Alain and Cheryl from Dance Conmigo School in Montreal for their breathtaking performance and the wonderful Merengue dance class they offered to all our guests. For more information on classes and schedules, please visit www.danceconmigo.com.
We would also like to thank the following dancers for their contribution to the Abhilasha Gala:
Thank you very much to all our guest for attending the Abhilasha Gala and for making it such an unforgettable evening. A big thank you to Filia Cagianos for providing us with such exquisite centerpieces for the event and for helping to transform our hall into a beautiful oasis of flowers. Thank you very much to Lisane Pelletier from the Clinique de Readaptation Universelle for her informative presentation. Thank you to Location Gmax for providing us with the dishware for the event. The Gala would not have been possible without their generous support. Thank you very much Hugo for all your help. Thank you to Dominic and Cassandra Pilla for offering three great raffle prizes (ipod nano, ipod touch and Nikon camera).
Lastly, a huge thank you to all the volunteers that helped make this event possible.
